I was on leave over Christmas and did not get around to checking up on the forum for some time. When I finally did get around I was shocked to see that a person who is a member of a NCMI relating church was posting on the forum. I did not want to ban this person outright because I believe that banning has the unfortunate effect of burning bridges. I felt that if, in the near future this person was to leave NCMI banning would make it harder for him to return and access this resource. It was with this in my mind that I decided to send him a private message asking him to please stop posting on the forum.
In reply he said that he was not hurting anyone and that he was upset that I had deleted his post (NCMI is autonomous) which I deleted for obvious reasons. He also indicated that maybe I should ban him because he will post again (and he did). I banned him this morning.
Getting there and I will be chatting about a set of simple rules for the forum. It is a general practice with forums and protects the members from un-welcomed or un-pleasant experiences.
I hope that you all agree with my decision and I would welcome comments as to what can be done to minimise this thought of thing in the future.
Yours in Christ
