She goes by the name of Jessie:
"Hey Sweet sister
I had a look at your other forum out of interest as had never heard of the abreviation ncmi before. Once I found out, I was amazed. I have friends who were involved in one such church here in JHB and guess what? There was a a virtual 'coup de tat' and the new pastor came in and did a clean sweep of all the elders and deacons etc. The church was split in two, many families were very dmaged.
My friend's children were devastated by what they saw in the adults during the whole experience as they were close friends of one of the prominent men involved who was booted not only out of teh church but out of his income as well. The children didn't want to go back to any church as a result.
I visited there many years ago and all I remember was standing in the auditorium, barely able to hear myself think, due to the loudness of the band (and I love loud music) and the young worship leader told everybody to jump up and down for Jesus. And to my amazement most of the folk there all ages started jumping up and down singing along with the band.
I remember at the time thinking I could not understand how this brought glory to God. People bobbing up and down like pogo sticks because some youngster told them to do so???
Don't get me wrong, I am all for joy in the Lord and firmly believe in allowing the Holy Spirit to have His utter freedom with us, but I could not make this connection there. My spirit was recoiling as I stood there.
Glad the Lord got you out. Glad the Lord has joined us together in His love and sooooo glad to see you growing in Him :-D"
